Kalmdown Cabin - Antwerp (BE)

Eine absolute Frechheit für den Preis! Positive: Die Lage war schön, das Bett war bequem und das Geschirr war sehr niedlich. Negative: Die Aussenmöbel und die Terasse waren in einem desolaten Zustand, am Grillrost klebte noch Fleisch, wahrscheinlich von der letzen Benutzung. Die Außen- und Inneneinrichtung entsprach überhaupt nicht den Fotos. Die Esstische (draußen und drinnen) fielen fast auseinander. Der Innenboden war in einem mitleidigen Zustand. Es war staubig, es wurde wohl nicht sehr gut geputzt. Die Deko war lieblos. Der Innenboden bedarf definitiv einer Renovierung. Das Badezimmer war winzig, der Duschkopf gab nur minimal Wasser ab. Nirgendwo wurde vorher erwähnt, dass es sich um eine 'Natur-Toilette' handelt, da keine Fotos vom Badezimmer... Das gesamte Badezimmer stank von Anfang an nach einem Dixie-Klo wie auf einem Festival, sehr sehr unangenehm! Auf den Sofakissen waren jede Menge schwarze Tierhaare! Die Dunstabzugshaube ebenso wie das Licht am Bett funktionierten nicht. Für den Preis ist diese Unterkunft eine ABSOLUTE Frechheit!

Beautiful remote cabin, but we got unlucky. Positive: Beautiful location in nature. You wake up looking at the forest. Negative: We got unlucky with our stay but Xavier was easy to communicate and refunded us 100% of the stay including the hotel we had to stay instead. In summary, our original stay was postponed by weeks as the property’s generator broke. Xavier was kind to offer us as compensation an additional night stay. When we eventually went, the cabin had not been cleaned from the previous guests (there was a miscommunication with the owner and the cleaner) and as we arrived at 11pm we had to instead stay in a hotel. The next day that the property was cleaned, we arrived late in the afternoon only to find out that there was no water at all (the water is refilled by rain, we learned, and it was not checked prior to our stay). Furthermore, the bathroom has a dry toilet which created an intense sewage smell in the bathroom and the rest of the cabin (the bed is next to the bathroom). Due to the above, the next morning we checked out as there was no way for Xavier to bring water for our stay (it had to rain instead). Xavier was kind enough to provide a full refund for our stay and also pay for the 1-night hotel.

Deconnecteren van de wereld en connecteren met elkaar Positive: Echt even enkele dagen met ons twee weg en we kochten echt Deconnecteren. Alles was aanwezig. Negative: Alles was aanwezig en een gezellige kachel.

Our first stay at a tiny house/cabin - and it didn’t disappoint! Positive: - Communication with Xavier was excellent — he provided clear and detailed information ahead of time. - The cabin is located in a peaceful park surrounded by nature (and cows!), which our corgis absolutely loved! - All the basics were covered: cooking utensils, fridge, towels, and more were thoughtfully provided. Negative: - Totally on us, but if you're visiting during warmer weather, come prepared for mosquitoes — they were pretty relentless at night. - The compost toilet, while expected given the off-grid nature of the cabin, had quite a strong odor that was hard to ignore.

Positive: Supermooie cabin op een prachtige locatie met zicht op de koeien. Ideaal om te wandelen en te fietsen in de omgeving. De Heideroute is zeker een aanrader. Negative: Vlakbij een militair domein, dus soms was het wel even verschieten als er werd geschoten, maar buiten dat was het er wel enorm stil en aangenaam.
